I just told the boys that we crossed our funding goal while everyone was sleeping last night. They are almost as excited as I am...

Sarah and I are both grateful for and humbled by the support we've gotten for this project from each and every one of you. You've backed and shared and rooted us along over the last couple of weeks, and its because of all of you that we're here, and with 11 days left in the campaign!

We're in Northern Georgia at the moment in the midst of a family road trip. Today, we are going to spend some time outside, celebrate this milestone and just enjoy each other's company.

Tomorrow, I'll send another update with some stretch goals. We've got some in mind that we're pretty excited about, and which we think will help expand the reach of Ed and his friends even further!

Thank you again! You all are awesome!

Hey, everyone!

Our last update was only three days ago, but it's been an awesome three days, so we wanted to share some updates with you!

Brave Writer Austin

This past weekend, we had the honor to attend the Brave Writer conference in Austin, TX and set-up a table to talk about Ed and our campaign. A good friend of ours, Ashley White, served as the organizer of the conference and invited us to participate as a vendor. We decided to bring our older two along to help talk about the book and show-off the components in the STEAM Kit.

Over the course of Friday and Saturday, we met a lot of awesome parents. We got to share our passion for this project and over a dozen decided on the spot to pledge their support!

We're so close!

Thanks to our awesome new Brave Writer backers, and a lot of other new folks who've joined in the last few days, we're now just over 76% funded in just under two weeks, and with 16 days to go! Since Friday, 40 new backers have joined the project! Welcome and thank you to all!

You can help us get the rest of the way there by sharing the project on social media, and also directly with friends and family that you think would be interested.

In fact, we'd love it if each of you would reach out directly to one person that you think would love this project, and ask them to consider supporting. Let's see how quickly we can close the gap to 100% and make this book a reality!

Let's do a live stream this Wednesday at 2:00 pm Central

Recently, Kickstarter added live streaming to their platform as a way for creators to interact with backers, answer questions and share their vision. We decided that this could be a great way to share some updates around our Harvey book donation efforts, new artwork from the book and answer any questions you might have about rewards, timelines, and more. And I might even be joined by the stars of our campaign video!

So, we're going to host our first live stream on Wednesday at 2 pm Central Time. You can sign-up for it here. Please feel free to also share this with others who might be considering backing the project. And if you have a question for us, you can submit it in advance from the live steam page.

Thanks again for your support and continuing to share this project. It feels so good to be this close and we can't wait to cross the finish line!

Have a great week, and stay bright!

Supporting our friends & family in Houston!
over 6 years ago – Tue, Sep 05, 2017 at 07:43:34 AM

Hi folks,

We hope you all had a fantastic weekend, and for those in the US, that you enjoyed some extra Labor Day rest with friends and family.

Over the weekend, we crossed the 50% mark. Thanks to those who jumped in over the last few days and got us there! We've had a great first week, but still have another $7k to go to hit our mark and get this book printed! Please keep sharing our project and encouraging your friends and family to support us in our mission to get more kids excited about electronics!

Helping out with Harvey Relief

As Texas natives and former Houstonians with friends and family in the Houston area, the effects of Hurricane Harvey have been heavy on our hearts for the past week. And while we, like many of you, have donated our time and money to assist in relief efforts in the area, Sarah and I are keen to do something as a part of this campaign to show our support for the great city of Houston and those involved in rebuilding and recovery.

To that end, we're going to do a couple of things to show our support, as well as provide you all with an opportunity to show your support along with us.

  • For every new backer we receive for the remainder of this campaign, we'll donate one copy of Ed Gets His Power Back to a Houston-area library, school or family directly impacted by the flood.
  • For every existing backer of this project who increases their pledge amount by $20, we'll donate two copies of Ed Gets His Power Back to a Houston-area library, school or family directly impacted by the flood. If you're interested in doing this, just click the "Manage your pledge" button at the top of our campaign page, then click "Change your pledge" and add a new amount in the "Pledge amount" box. You don't need to change your reward level to do this.

We believe books are vital, and that stories should never cease, especially in times of tragedy. Please help us keep the stories going for Houston-area kids and families.

Thanks and stay bright!
